Howdy from my Austin, Tx sewing studio. I am a quilting enthusiast, who also enjoys collecting, restoring, and (most importantly) USING vintage sewing machines. I belong to the Austin Area Quilt Guild, which will be celebrating a legacy of 30 years of quilting in the Central Texas area in 2008. Join us Sept 26-28 2008 for our Biennial Quilt Show. visit www.aaqg.org for more info.
After a long career in marketing, I'm semi-retired and spend my time quilting, blogging, sewing, and working on vintage machines for myself and others. I also run a small "cybershop" on that big auction place in Cyberspace. To follow along with me on my quilting "journey", visit my blog: www.karenquiltslife.blogspot.com You'll find links to my photo album where I document my quilts and sewing machine collection, and links to my "shameless commerce division" where some of my works are for sale! I'm always looking for easy, fun to do patterns, good Quiltmakers to learn from, and great places to visit on the internet. I post my "finds" on the blog also. Happy Quilting - Make a QUILT today, as Babies are getting COLD! Karen PS: The quilt shown above is the completed top for a wedding ring pattern done for my mother's 50th wedding anniversary. It's now out of the quilt frame (hand quilted!), and is about to be bound... with a scalloped edge. 4 years in the making, this Queen size quilt has been a challenging work of love. More pictures of it undergoing quilting at the photo gallery link on my blog.
