Hi everyone,
I just purchased batting made of 50% cotton & 50% bamboo. It feels wonderful and I'm looking forward to working with it. There were no instructions on the package about pre-shinking. Should it be pre-shunk? How should it be done?

Hi I just saw this new batting at Joann's today and bought it because I liked the feel of it. I too couldn't find any pre-use instructions on the package. However, I found very good info on this website called www.quilting.about.com. You will find all the info on whether to pre-wash or not and how to pre-wash. I'll be hand quilting a baby size quilt, my first hand quilting ever! So we'll see how the experience goes. Good luck.

Thanks for replying. It is very soft. Since I posted that question I got on the Fairfield website (the manufacturer) and found instructions. It really should be preshrunk because there is a fair amount of shrinkage. I will be machine quilting with it. Let me know how you like it for hand quilting because I do have a couple of hand quilting projects started.
