I have a little device I use for my 1/4 in. seams that works well for getting them accurate. It is called the "Sewbuddy" and works terrific. It is magnetic, but not strong enough to hurt the electronics in a machine. It is easy to set up and use, and remove. check it out at www.sewbuddy.com. I swear by it.

June Tailored made a square in a square cutting tool that is perfect for fussy cutting anything, but exspecially fussy cutting material where the pattern is close together. The center square has little notches at each corner that stops your rotory cutter from going past the corner of your square. This eliminates those extra quarter inch slices at the corners of the material preventing you to get that picture that is right next to the one you just cut because to went a little to far. This tool comes in three different sizes a 12 1/2 outer 6 1/2 inner, 8 1/2 outer 4 1/2 inner, and the one I use the most a 6 1/2 outer square and 3 1/2 inch inner square.

Has anyone had any experience mailing fabric postcards recently???? I've made them for 3 years now and each year it becomes more difficult and expensive to actually mail them... Anyone else have this experience?

"Has anyone had any experience mailing fabric postcards recently???? I've made them for 3 years now and each year it becomes more difficult and expensive to actually mail them... Anyone else have this experience?" Yes, I have had this experience. I have contacted the USPS, and was told that the issue is the size (does it fall within standard sizes) and the thicknesses (can't be over a certain thickness). Embellishments cause problems. All these add up. I love to mail the postcards without envelopes, cause I think it defeats the purpose of the surprise of the postcard.

Is anyone familiar with the Simplicity Rotary Cutter? I'm thinking about purchasing one and would like to hear from anyone who has used one. It's supposed to cut strips from 1-1/2" wide to 3" or 4" which would be great for covering sweatshirts using the stitch and flip method.

Just got through with my first "shop Hop". a friend and I went to five stores in the Las Vegas area. What a blast. We could see the same people from store to store and had so much fun sharing a "girls day" (something I have not done in a long time). I spent so much money but got a great idea to make a Las Vegas quilt as a memobelia for when we go back to Texas in a few years. I am so ready to do this again....

I have an antique wooden drying rack that I discoverd is quite handy for displaying my cut out pieces for the quilt I am working on. Larger pieces work the best like binding etc. I have a picture if I can figure out how to add it to this tip.
