Celebrate Home Quilt ShowThis is a featured page

Cheep Housing Raffle Quilt The Fat Quarters Quilt Guild is planning their 16th Annual quilt show called, “Celebrate Home”. At the beautifully restored Clayton Grange, Saturday, August 1, 9 am to 4 pm., 4478 Railroad Avenue, Clayton, Washington.
Guild president Vivian Clemetson says, “The guild presents this yearly show as a way to promote share our love of quilting with the community. We don’t charge admission but you can always purchase a raffle ticket.” Guild members collaborated to make a queen-size quilt featuring birds and birdhouses, called “Cheep Housing.” Every member participated either by making a birdhouse block, appliquéing the vines and flowers or piecing the border. Longarm-machine quilter Barb Mayfield of Newport, WA beautifully quilted it.

The guild is proud to highlight local hometown quilter, Sandi Stillman as the featured quilter. Sandi has been a longarm quilter for in the area longer than she cares to remember. She enjoys making scrappy or charm style quilts. As featured quilter, Sandi will give two short presentations of a quick guide to scrap quilting entitled "CHARMED AND DANGEROUS" at 11:30 am and 2 pm. The “Celebrate Home” Quilt Show is doing just that remembering home and celebrating its traditions. With all the usual quilt categories for everyone attending to vote on, this year the guild challenge is to make an apron following set guidelines. Even with such a simple project, you may be surprised at the variety. We invite you to come and enjoy the best little quilt show in the West.
