I bought an item from the owner at Quilters Corner for $80. My husband shocked at the price, finds it somewhere else for $43 & we decide to return it. When I brought it back, 5 days later, unopened, with my receipt, the owner would not issue me a refund. She put the item right back on the wall where is was 5 days ago, but would not give me my money back. She gave me a store credit, but I didn't need anything from her store other than this machine part. We called her back the next day, nicely trying to reach a middle ground on the $40 difference in price. She would not budge on the price, she would not agree to a restocking fee. She was not willing to price match or even meet us in the middle on price. We then went to the store & asked to see her return policy posted. (from what we understand under VA law it must be visible to the customer) She fumbled around and could not find it herself saying it must have gotten moved, they had been cleaning up. She could not produce it herself. We showed her a print out of the VA law stating that it had to be clearly & predominantly visible. She said she knew the law. Within hours of our leaving as very unhappy customers we noticed she then posted the policy online & surely has it visible in the store now. But just be warned, she does not put her customers first!

I found a new website with over 300 quilting terms. It appears to be the most complete list of quilting terms ever compiled. Not only does it have the terms, but it tells you which terms are synonyms and other related terms. Excellent for the beginning to intermediate quilter. I highly recommend it.
The site also has other features worth looking into, but this one is my favorite! Free newsletter, when you register.

Does anyone know how I can best distribute new patterns I've written? Going to each quilt shop will take forever. I feel sure other quilters will enjoy sewing these new quilt projects. Thanks for any advise.

The Arizona Commemorative Quilt will be in Washington DC at the Russell Senate Building, March 26-30th. The quilt was recently featured in Quilters Newsletter. It is truly a work of art, made by over 100 quilters. The quilt was donated to the Arizona Historical Society, in Tucson Arizona. I'm trying to spread the word to quilters in the area so you will have an opportunity to see the quilt.

Any one interested in a block exchange? I led one several years ago and enjoyed meeting new quilters as well as receiving some great quilt blocks. If any interest, I will be happy to host.

Is anyone still interested in exchanging blocks, or strips? I would like to exchange not in a specific fabric line, since local shops may not carry a specific line, but more so color-themed. Let me know if you are interested.

I have always used Sisters Scraps but since beginning this lastest block of the month, the staff is very unfriendly, never speaks and is flat out rude. This store now reminds me of the old R & R. As for me, I will complete the project started but my business will be going to R & R. At least there, you are greet when you come in the store and people actually smile and talk to you. Bad Attitude!!!!!!!

Thanks so much for this article and the comment on it! I love quilting! I found a bunch of my great-great grandma's quilt squares so I turned them into bigger quilts and gave them to members of my family. Believe it or not, they make great home decor items in my home. It is something that means a lot that I get to look at all day!

Thimbles are very important. I have tried many, many thimbles but have not found a one that I can keep on my finger. Then I found ThimblePads. They work great for me. However, finding them for sale is very difficult. There is only one store in town that sells them, and they are currently backordered. Any ideas on where I can web-order them?

Hello! I'm hoping someone can help me with this --
I came across a Sunbonnet Sue design that incorporated a real hankerchief for the apron. Of course I was browsing through really OLD magazines and now can't remember where I was when I saw the ad for the design. If anyone has seen something like that could you please send me a note. I'm guessing I could cut the hanky in half & just sew it in -- but just in case there's a nicer way (or maybe more creative way) to add it, I'd like to know. In my memory, it seems that the hanky was just one half with the pointed edge of the hanky facing Sue's feet.
Thank you - Sally

I purchased two Pendleton wool pleated skirts for practically pennies - they are like new (one of my thrift store bargains). I want to take them apart - use for blocks for a warm quilt. Anyone ever done this? Should I use Woolite and wash the fabric first. I don't want "felted" wool - shrunk up.
